Which Way?

Hmmm, might have been a while since I posted.

The good news is that I’ve almost finished the editing on the story for submission (oh, last week? Well, this week it will be submitted — not out of time yet). I’m sure I spend more time editing than doing the first draft (even if the first draft takes ten redrafts).

And then, as always happens near the end of a project, a little line came into my head:

It happened tomorrow, but here I am stuck in yesterday with no way to move forward or back far enough to stop it.

That makes for intriguing thoughts about a story.

And no, I’m not worried about someone stealing an idea.

Ideas are free, and hard work goes into making a story compelling. The above line is an intrigue, a tease, the siren-song of a new story calling.

It’s why there’s a point where the current WeeInPee stops. The subconscious is telling me that it’s time to let go, to move on, to follow the wanderer in my heart.

To find new love.

Not a person or a thing, a new story that holds my mind on a single track (yeah, like stories are single-track) and yet frees my soul to wander wherever, this world or another, this time or another.

It’s almost time to step away from my current flame to create a new scar, a permanent reminder of what is, what could be, and how it comes together.

And that’s enough of that.

I’ll see you on the other side, and I’ll let you know how the subs go (I do have another submission call to look at — and it’s been picking away at the back of my brain …).

Have a great Sunday, Solstice of Winter here, a new moon at the dawn. An omen?
