Do you know what it is?
I mentioned it in a story, and for some reason, people who saw it don’t seem to know what it is.
Ever seen one of the hula-dancing girls on the dash of a car? Or the dog? I tried to find a picture of one, but couldn’t find a freebie, so you’ll have to imagine it, or remember it.
The dog with the wobbly head that nods all the time the car moves?
That’s the noddy dog.
Of course, I wasn’t referring to that form of noddy dog – what I was talking about was [oh, no! No, no, no – not politics!] the way the people behind the pollies on telly do the noddy dog.
Ever seen that?
Nod, they nod, and ever nod, and nod some more, and stand behind the mouthpiece and do nothing but nod.
A noddy dog.
Yes, it’s an insult to dogs – and dogs don’t do that. If you want direct, you get a dog. A dog is honest and open and accepting.
What can I use in place of a noddy dog phrase?
I can’t call them rude names — well, I could, but I won’t. I’m not a politician, so not protected by all those things they use.
Help!
What phrase can I use to show the noddy dog politician? For the life of me, and even with a wild and vivid imagination, I just can’t think of anything more appropriate …

And don’t forget the last few days of the Smashwords Sale:
Update on Ninny Rhino? Okay, you asked for it:

Bottom feeders, yes dogs, collared thinkers, droolers, barking mad, there’s a few 🙂

I like bottom feeders as an alternative, but they don’t tend to ‘nod’ – oh, isn’t a crayfish a bottom feeder?
I just don’t want to insult anything smarter than the ones I’m trying to refer to in an adequate manner.

Ah yes, it fails on the crayfish being smarter by far 🙂 we need a new language, a nomenclature for that type.

Oh good. You’re on it 🙂 I don’t know if you have taken time to follow the ongoing developments in China in regard to social credit where you gain or lose credit based on prescribed acceptable behaviour – basically they are putting white collar crime and low ranked crime under virtual house arrest. The cctv cameras monitor them and they are travel and finance restricted. Alternately if you are received positively you gain more access to the better things in life. Gasp.

You’re writing is going great – way ahead of your plan. 🙂 That’s awesome. And yes, I have seen those Noddy Dogs standing behind politicians. But I agree that’s an insult to dogs. 🙂

How about a “lemming”? Oh wait, there already is a definition of a lemming : “a person who seemingly does not possess any form of individual thought, and instead, mindlessly follows the behaviors and actions of the masses.” Actually, I like noddy dog better.

Yes, it does say ‘seemingly’ – I’m certain these ones have nothing to ‘seem’ about (which is probably why I don’t want to use ‘dog’ either – dogs are smarter!).

If you say bobblehead instead of noddy head, people in the US would understand you better, As far as the politician thing goes, all I can think of is baby kissers.

the people that stand behind pols are called Sheep. Or Sheeple. Nodding their heads in blind support of the bullshit of the day

I might have to go with bobble-head – the sheep I’ve come across are smarter than the ones I’m referring to (yes, sheep can be very intelligent, or at least more intelligent than these id– whoops, I don’t want too much trouble!).

Bobbleheads can be anything with a head, including humans. The politician-affirming types might be called “yes-men.” Or “yes-women” for that matter. Yes-persons? Bobbleheads is more evocative.

I like bobble-heads – it doesn’t insult any animals (who are generally better behaved, smarter, and unlikely to nod at a polly).
